About The Tour:
This 25-leg journey is a true test of bush flying skill, taking you across Alaska’s most remote, rugged, and breathtaking landscapes. Designed for VFR pilots, the tour blends coastal navigation, mountain flying, and Arctic exploration into one continuous adventure.
Beginning in Anchorage, the route quickly leaves civilization behind, heading south along the dramatic coastline to Seward and across open water to Kodiak Island, where changing weather and ocean winds set the tone for the trip.
From there, you’ll push west into the Alaska Peninsula, hopping between isolated communities like King Salmon, Iliamna, and Nelson Lagoon, where navigation relies more on terrain awareness than instruments. Long stretches of wilderness lead you into the vast Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta and onward to Bethel.
Turning north, the terrain grows harsher and more unforgiving. Flights between Unalakleet, Kotzebue, and Nome introduce Arctic conditions, with fewer landmarks and rapidly changing weather. Crossing above the Arctic Circle, you’ll reach Utqiaġvik (Barrow)—one of the northernmost settlements in the United States—where the landscape becomes stark, flat, and endlessly remote.
The return leg dives back into Alaska’s wild interior. Remote strips like Ambler and Tanana guide you toward Fairbanks, a brief return to infrastructure before heading south again.
Flying along the Alaska Range, you’ll experience some of the most spectacular scenery in the sim, including the Denali region, with towering peaks, glaciers, and narrow valleys demanding careful altitude and route planning.
The final legs bring you back toward civilization via Anchorage, before finishing with a scenic coastal run through Whittier, Valdez, and Cordova—a dramatic ending featuring fjords, glaciers, and tight coastal approaches.
